Soledad Leon¶
Basic Information¶
Species: Human
Occupation: Cleric of the Pagoda of Ara
Residence: The Pagoda of Ara, Agrovionimb
Status: Incarcerated
Appearance¶
Physical Description¶
Soledad is a large-built human woman standing 159 cm (5'3") tall.
She has warm beige skin, light gray eyes, and short, messy light red hair that has already begun turning almost entirely gray.
She often appears older than her years, carrying herself with the quiet weariness of someone who has spent much of her life in contemplation.
Clothing and Equipment¶
As a cleric of the Pagoda of Ara, Soledad typically dresses in practical temple robes.
Her clothing is often simple and comfortable, suitable for both religious duties and long hours spent indoors.
Personality¶
Soledad is extremely shy and deeply uncomfortable around large groups of people.
She rarely seeks attention and generally prefers the background to the center of any gathering.
She is slightly open to new experiences and enjoys reflecting on ideas and questions that others might overlook.
She can be spontaneous and occasionally ignores practical details.
Though somewhat interested in other people, she tends to keep emotional distance and can appear reserved even to close acquaintances.
She is exceptionally calm and rarely loses her composure.
She frequently hums quietly to herself, especially when concentrating or lost in thought.
Interests¶
Carving¶
Soledad enjoys carving and appears to appreciate patient, hands-on work that allows her mind to wander.
Quiet Reflection¶
She seems most comfortable in moments of solitude and contemplation.
Relationships¶
Friends¶
Among her few known friends are:
* Rosoanor Winddor-WindLand, a tanner.
* Strinzi Umbraxian, a labourer.
* Miawynn Faevain-FairyMountain, a miller.
* Zinxina Ulorsath, a doctor.
* Sulasthogg Vrakath, a farmer.
Belaia Bhovunath and Domitila Quintana¶
Temple records describe Soledad and Domitila as Belaia's closest friends.
Their close association eventually led all three women into the Covenant of the Last Dawn.
The Witnesses¶
Soledad was one of the eight individuals known as the Witnesses.
During the Witnesses' final meeting, Varan suggested that all gatherings should cease after Alar's disappearance.
Soledad immediately disagreed:
"That would draw attention faster than continuing."
Later, after discussion of the failed shipyard ritual, she quietly reminded the others:
"The work in the harbor failed. But the truth behind it did not."
The statement strongly suggests that, despite the collapse of the conspiracy's immediate plans, Soledad remained deeply committed to the Covenant's beliefs.
History¶
Little is known about Soledad's early life.
At some point she joined the clergy of the Pagoda of Ara and became close friends with Belaia Bhovunath and Domitila Quintana.
Through these relationships she eventually became involved in one of the temple's private faith discussion groups and later joined the Covenant of the Last Dawn.
Unlike several of the other Witnesses, Soledad appeared neither frightened nor uncertain during the group's final meeting.
Even after the failure of the harbor ritual and the disappearance of Alar, she continued to speak with quiet conviction.
When the Witnesses were arrested, she offered no resistance and later pleaded guilty alongside the other members of the conspiracy.
