Appearance¶

Vash is a young human man of slight build with walnut-colored skin, brown eyes, and brown hair. He carries himself with the easy confidence of someone who has never doubted that the world will eventually forgive his mistakes. He dresses well when circumstances permit and possesses a naturally charming smile that has undoubtedly gotten him into as much trouble as it has gotten him out of it.

Biography¶

Vash was born into the sprawling Sindh-Pandaya family, an old and wealthy noble house whose influence has long exceeded its actual importance. Among their many claims to fame are a distant marriage connection to the Council of Thirteen and the unusual family tradition that at least one member of the family has sailed aboard every exploration vessel launched from Agrovionimb since the practice began.

The Sindh-Pandaya family traces its ancestry to one of humanity's oldest surviving cultural lineages, a people that existed long before the rise of the Rihian Republic and whose traditions have largely been absorbed into the broader Rihian identity. The same ancient culture produced Gauri Lakshmi Devi, the mortal woman who would one day ascend as Greluna, Goddess of the Stars. Though the people survive, little remains of their original identity beyond fragments of family history, preserved names, and old traditions.

As one of several dozen distant heirs with little expectation of inheriting anything of significance, Vash received an expensive and remarkably broad education. Unfortunately, his insatiable curiosity and fondness for mischief repeatedly brought him into trouble. Over the years he has been expelled from several schools, banned from numerous establishments, arrested, tried, convicted, pardoned, and generally regarded as a source of endless frustration by his family.

Seeking freedom from his family's expectations, an arranged marriage, and the boredom of noble life, Vash volunteered for the expedition into the Dreadmist Swamp. He was one of only seven people to survive the encounter with The Troll of Dreadmist.

Now, with the completion of the Dawn Seeker, Vash has volunteered once again. Officially, he seeks to put his education to practical use and uphold his family's ancient tradition of exploration.

Unofficially, he is simply too curious to remain behind.

Personality¶

Vash is intelligent, charming, well-educated, and more than a little flippant. He possesses an endless curiosity about the world and a tendency to ask questions that sensible people have learned not to ask. He enjoys mischief, rarely takes himself too seriously, and often takes his health, wealth, and privilege for granted.
