Domitila Quintana¶
Basic Information¶
Species: Human
Occupation: Cleric of the Pagoda of Ara
Residence: The Pagoda of Ara, Agrovionimb
Status: Incarcerated
Appearance¶
Physical Description¶
Domitila is a thin human woman standing 160 cm (5'3") tall.
She has cool pink skin and light brown eyes.
Her head is completely bald, though age has already begun to thin what little hair remains.
She carries herself with surprising energy, frequently gesturing while she speaks and rarely remaining still for long.
Clothing and Equipment¶
Domitila wears the simple robes of a temple cleric, though she often personalizes them with knitted scarves, decorative cords, or handmade embellishments.
She usually carries knitting needles and yarn somewhere on her person.
Personality¶
Domitila is enthusiastic and enjoys being at the center of conversations and activities.
She is exceptionally open-minded and loves contemplating difficult questions and unfamiliar ideas.
She can be somewhat spontaneous and has a tendency to neglect mundane responsibilities in favor of whatever currently holds her attention.
She is kind and deeply empathetic, often taking the suffering of others to heart.
Unfortunately, she is also emotionally fragile and easily disturbed. Sadness and despair seem to affect her more deeply than most.
She speaks with a quiet mumble.
Interests¶
Music¶
Domitila enjoys playing the lute and frequently performs simple songs for friends and fellow clerics.
She believes music can bring people together and provide comfort during difficult times.
Knitting¶
She enjoys knitting and often creates scarves, blankets, and small gifts for others.
Philosophy¶
Domitila loves discussing ideas and beliefs, particularly difficult questions about faith, purpose, and the future of civilization.
This interest eventually led her into the orbit of the Covenant.
Relationships¶
Belaia Bhovunath¶
Domitila was one of Belaia's closest friends and attended her faith discussion groups for years.
She trusted Belaia deeply and appears to have embraced the Covenant's philosophy through these discussions.
Soledad Leon¶
Alongside Belaia, Soledad was one of Domitila's closest companions within the temple community.
The three women were frequently seen together.
The Witnesses¶
Domitila served as one of the eight Witnesses within the Covenant of the Last Dawn.
During the Witnesses' final meeting, she was one of the first to ask practical questions regarding Alar's disappearance and the possibility that investigators had learned the truth. She appeared deeply worried about what might happen if the Council uncovered the purpose of the harbor ritual.
Later, during questioning before the Council, magical probing of her thoughts revealed overwhelming despair and ultimately exposed the identity of the Covenant's founder, Araroris Calaarauth.
History¶
Domitila spent most of her adult life serving the Pagoda of Ara.
As a cleric she was known for her kindness and willingness to listen to others' concerns.
She became involved in one of Belaia Bhovunath's faith discussion groups, where difficult questions about the state of the world and the silence of the gods were frequently discussed.
Over time, these conversations transformed into something darker.
Domitila came to believe that civilization was dying and that Agrovionimb's hope for salvation beyond the sea was a comforting illusion.
Though she accepted the Covenant's conclusions, she never appeared cruel or fanatical. Instead, she seemed burdened by them.
During the final investigation into the Covenant, her thoughts were described as radiating profound despair rather than anger or malice.
She was arrested alongside the other Witnesses during the raid on their meeting at the Pagoda of Ara and later pleaded guilty to her involvement in the conspiracy.
