Crystal Tower

The Crystal Tower is the home of the Triad Arcanum, a magic university of three schools:

Hexorth: School of the Arcane
Sanctum: School of the Divine
Verdant: School of the Natural

Education at the Triad Arcanum is rigorous and demanding, requiring years of study and practice to master the magical arts. The university is renowned for its high standards and its emphasis on academic excellence, and admission is highly competitive.

Basic Magical Study¶

Students at the Triad Arcanum are expected to complete a broad range of coursework, covering subjects such as history, philosophy, and natural sciences, in addition to their core studies in magic. The curriculum is designed to provide students with a well-rounded education, enabling them to understand the larger context in which magic operates and how it relates to the wider world.

In addition to their academic studies, students are required to engage in practical training, honing their skills in casting spells, crafting magical objects, and conducting research. They work closely with experienced faculty members, learning from their expertise and experience, and receive regular feedback on their progress.

The Triad Arcanum places a strong emphasis on research and innovation, encouraging students to push the boundaries of what is known about magic and to explore new areas of inquiry. Advanced Magical Study¶

The Triad Arcanum offers a wide range of magical traditions and disciplines for students to explore, providing them with the flexibility to tailor their education to their interests and career goals.

At Hexorth, the School of the Arcane, students delve deep into the study of magic and its fundamental principles. They learn how to harness the raw power of the magical aether and wield it to cast spells and create magical objects. Students at Hexorth can choose from a wide variety of magical traditions, each focusing on a different aspect of arcane magic.

The Order of Scribes, for example, emphasizes the study and mastery of magical script, while the School of Enchantment focuses on manipulating the minds and wills of others. The School of War Magic combines magic with martial training, teaching students how to use magic to enhance their combat abilities. Students who pursue the tradition of the Bladesinger combine magical and martial training to become formidable warriors.

At Sanctum, the School of the Divine, students learn how to channel the power of the gods to cast divine spells and perform miracles. They study the tenets of the various gods and goddesses of Andórë, and learn how to invoke their favor and blessings. Like Hexorth, Sanctum offers a wide range of traditions for students to explore, each focused on a different aspect of divine magic.

The Life Domain, for example, emphasizes healing and restoration, while the Death Domain focuses on manipulating the forces of life and death. The Nature Domain is all about communing with and harnessing the power of the natural world, while the War Domain emphasizes battle tactics and strategy.

Finally, at Verdant, the School of the Natural, students learn to commune with nature and harness its primal energies to cast spells and perform magical feats. They study the cycles of nature and learn to live in harmony with the natural world. Most of their training takes place outside the walls of the Crystal Tower, as they learn to navigate the wilderness and commune with the spirits of nature.

Verdant offers a variety of druidic traditions for students to explore, each focused on a different aspect of nature magic. The Circle of the Land, for example, focuses on harnessing the power of the earth and its elements, while the Circle of the Moon emphasizes shape-shifting and the power of the wild.

Overall, the Triad Arcanum offers a diverse and comprehensive education in the magical arts, providing students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences they need to pursue their dreams and make a difference in the world of magic and beyond.

After completing their basic magical training, usually the first year or two of study, students are given the option to attend either Hexorth, Sanctum, or Verdant. Then after several years of study there, they are able to specialize in one of the paths of that school.

Hexorth is the School of the Arcane, and studies the use of the magical aether that suffuses all the universe to fuel magic.
