Commissioning of the Exploration Galley Dawn Seeker
Issued by the Council of Thirteen in the Settlement Hall of Agrovionimb,
Year 1,137 of the Age Of Demons
Let it be entered into the records of the Settlement Hall and proclaimed to the people of Agrovionimb that the Council of Thirteen, entrusted with the stewardship of this city and its people, hereby orders the construction of a new exploration vessel in accordance with the ancient custom of our forebears.
For more than eleven centuries Agrovionimb has endured while the lands beyond our island were consumed by the demonic scourge. The seas carry only silence from the world that once was, and the horizon—no more than fifteen miles from our shores—conceals whatever fate befell the Nations of Andórë.
Yet the people of this city have never surrendered their duty to seek the truth of that distant world.
Therefore the Council decrees the following.
I. Commission of the Vessel¶
A great ship shall be constructed in the shipyards of Agrovionimb and shall bear the name Dawn Seeker, that it may carry with it the enduring hope that the darkness which has claimed the world may yet give way to a new dawn.
The vessel shall be built according to the traditional specifications of the exploration ship commissioned by this Council throughout the centuries.
II. Purpose of the Voyage¶
Upon completion, the Dawn Seeker shall sail beyond the shores of Agrovionimb and past the far horizon, into the unknown seas of the wider world.
Its mission shall be:
- To seek signs of surviving peoples or settlements.
- To chart the altered coasts, seas, and lands of Andórë.
- To recover knowledge, relics, or histories of the fallen nations.
- To return, if fate allows, bearing word of the world beyond our sight.
The expedition may choose its course freely, whether toward the waters of the Dragon’s Maw or the distant coasts of the Giant’s Hammer.
III. Volunteers for the Expedition¶
The Council calls for eighty volunteers to serve as the crew of the Dawn Seeker.
Those who answer this call shall do so freely and with full understanding that the voyage may lead beyond the reach of rescue or return.
All who sail shall be honored among the people of Agrovionimb as Seekers of the Dawn, and their names shall be recorded in the chronicles kept within the Settlement Hall, so that their courage is never forgotten.
IV. Provisioning and Command¶
The Council shall provide the vessel, its arms, supplies, navigational instruments, and all provisions necessary for the voyage.
The captain of the expedition shall be chosen from among the volunteers and confirmed by the Council of Thirteen.
V. Continuation of the Ancient Tradition¶
This decree renews the ancient custom begun in the first years after the Fall:
that in every age the people of Agrovionimb shall send forth ships to learn what became of the world beyond the sea.
Though no expedition has yet returned with word of salvation, the Council affirms that hope itself is a duty of the living.
So long as Agrovionimb stands, its people shall not cease to look beyond the horizon.
