Cosmological Divergence from D&D

In the standard D&D multiverse the worlds of the Material Plane interact with various other Planes of Existence. For example, the Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk, and Dragon Lance all have access to the Astral Plane, Ethereal Plane, Feywild, Shadowfell, the Inner Elemental Planes and a great number of Outer Planes, like the Seven Heavens of Mount Celestia or the Nine Hells.

Similarly to the D&D world of Ebberon, Andórë does not interact with the other Planes of Existence in the same way as a standard D&D world. Of the 16 Outer Planes defined in the Dungeon Master's Guide, only one interacts with Andórë: the Infinite Layers of The Abyss.

The D&D Multiverse

This is the D&D multiverse. It does not apply to Andórë. Of the outer planes, the only one that is connected to Andórë is The Abyss.

The Planes of Andórë

The following planes interact with Andórë in much the same way they do in the standard D&D multiverse.
- The Ethereal Plane
- Feywild
- Shadowfell
- The Inner Elemental Planes (Air, Water, Fire, Earth)

However, there are differences. In every case, the corresponding plane is a reflection of the natural world of Andórë. This is normally the case of the Ethereal Plane, Feywild, and Shadowfell, but it is a change for the Inner Planes. The Andórëan versions of these planes are walled off from the other worlds that inhabit the same plane, meaning the Forgotten Realms' Feywild is inaccessible from Andórë's Feywild. You cannot use the Inner Planes to jump between worlds.

Another change is that Andórë has no access to what is known as the Astral Sea (the Astral Plane). Any spell that references astral projection or the Astral Sea, will instead send a character to the The Plane of Dreams, which like the other planes above is a reflection of Andórë itself.

In addition, at the time of our campaign, the link between Andórë and the inner planes listed above has been severed. There is currently no known way to access the Feywild, Shadowfel, or elemental planes from Andórë. The great powers of each of the listed planes have sealed all known gateways into and out of Andórë from their plane to keep out the demonic threat. The The Plane of Dreams and Ethereal Plane are still accessible.

Interstellar/Interplanar Travel

Nobody from Andórë has ever had dinner in Ed Greenwood's kitchen with Mordenkainen, Elminster and Dalamar. Like Eberron, Andórë has always been on the fringes of the multiverse. It was hard to access before and nearly impossible to leave. In its current state, magical travel to and from Andórë is impossible (teleport, plane shift, etc). It is unknown if Andórë can be accessed via Wild Space.

The Afterlife

If there are no outer planes, where do people go in the afterlife? In the standard D&D multiverse when a person dies their soul goes to the plane corresponding to their chosen god, or the plane most in line with their alignment.

Before the demons overran the world and it was severed from the outer planes, the souls of the departed went to Transcendence. It is currently unknown what happens to the souls of the dead.

Resurrection magic works as normal, and those who are returned have no memory of their experiences while dead.
