Venera
Goddess of Night¶
Venera, the Goddess of Night, is a deity of great renown, particularly for her love of the hunt and her close association with the wild. Her iconography often depicts her as a hybrid of a human and a werewolf, with jet-black hair, sharp features, and piercing blue eyes. She is both fierce and regal, exuding a calm and serene presence in her humanoid form, and appearing as a fearsome creature in her werewolf form.
The goddess's domain is the moon, and she is often associated with the cycles of the natural world, particularly the changing of the seasons. Her love of the hunt is reflected in her followers, who are often hunters and trackers, as well as those who live in harmony with the wild.
Venera's moral philosophy is rooted in the importance of balance and harmony, both within oneself and with the natural world. She values self-reliance and independence, while recognizing the importance of community and cooperation. Venera sees the world as a delicate balance between order and chaos, and strives to maintain that balance in all things.
The goddess's influence is felt throughout the mortal world, with some revering her as a protector of the wild and a guide to those who seek to live in harmony with nature. Others, however, view her as a dangerous and unpredictable force, to be avoided at all costs.
Despite the varied interpretations of her influence, Venera remains a powerful and enigmatic figure. Her presence is felt in the natural world, and in the hearts of those who seek to live in balance with it.
In Andórëan mythology, Venera holds an esteemed position, alongside her mate Khyzios, for her powers over the moon and werewolves. Her followers seek her guidance and protection, believing that she can offer them strength and wisdom in their daily lives. Venera's legacy continues to inspire and captivate mortals, reminding them of the power and mystery of the natural world.
Author's Personal Thoughts¶
I find Venera's mythology fascinating, particularly her association with the moon and the cycles of the natural world. Her depiction as a human-werewolf hybrid is unique and adds to her mystique, making her a captivating figure in Andórëan mythology.
I can appreciate Venera's moral philosophy centered around balance and harmony. The idea of maintaining balance in all things is a concept that resonates with me, and I believe it is an important principle to strive for in life. Her belief in self-reliance and independence is also commendable, as it encourages individuals to take responsibility for their own lives and actions.
However, I can also understand why some might view Venera as a dangerous and unpredictable force. Her association with the wild and her love of the hunt could lead some to see her as a threat to civilization and order. Additionally, her werewolf form could be unsettling to those who fear the unknown or the unfamiliar.
I find Venera to be a complex and intriguing figure in Andórëan mythology, and her followers' admiration and reverence for her are understandable given her powers. While I may not personally share in her faith, I can appreciate the role she plays in the mythology and beliefs of Andórëan culture.

Personal history¶
In the beginning, when the world was young and the gods were still shaping its destiny, there were two divine beings, Khyzios and Venera. Khyzios was a being of darkness, feared by mortals for his vampiric appearance and his power over the shadows. Venera, on the other hand, was a being of light, revered by mortals for her beauty and her strength. Despite their differences, Khyzios and Venera were drawn to each other. They knew that their powers complemented each other, and they soon became inseparable. Together, they traveled the world, bringing peace and comfort to those who feared the darkness and the unknown.
As they traveled, they gained a following of mortals who worshiped them as the Oracle of Darkness, a divine couple who could bring them solace in the face of death. The young would pray to Khyzios and Venera to protect them from the afterlife, while the elderly would pray to be taken by them to a peaceful and dignified death.
Khyzios and Venera honored these prayers, and they would often appear in the dreams of mortals, offering them comfort and guidance. They became known as the divine guardians of the afterlife, and their followers revered them as the ultimate protectors against the unknown.

Mental Trauma¶
Venera had always held a fascination with shape-shifting and transformation. She took great pleasure in watching her followers take on the forms of various animals and embrace their wild side.
However, one day a group of her most devout followers approached her with a request. They wanted to take their devotion to her to the next level and be granted the ability to transform into wolves permanently. At first, Venera was hesitant. She knew the power of transformation was not to be taken lightly, and she feared the consequences of such a gift.
But the followers pleaded with her, promising to use their newfound abilities for good and to honor her always. They swore to never harm innocent people or cause chaos in their wolf form.
Eventually, Venera relented and granted them their wish. The followers were ecstatic and thanked their goddess for her generosity. They immediately began to embrace their new forms, running through the forests and howling at the moon.
But soon, Venera began to hear whispers from her fellow gods and goddesses. They warned her that the power of transformation was not meant to be granted permanently, that it could easily be corrupted and twisted into something dark and dangerous.
As the weeks went by, Venera's anxiety grew. She watched as her followers became increasingly wild and feral, losing touch with their human side. She saw the potential for violence and destruction in their eyes, and she knew she had made a terrible mistake.
One night, she visited the pack of wolves in their den, hoping to speak to them and reason with them. But when she arrived, they were already in the midst of a vicious battle with a neighboring pack. They were tearing each other apart, and Venera could feel the weight of their rage and bloodlust.
In that moment, she realized the true power of the transformation she had granted. It was not just physical, but mental as well. The wolves had become so consumed by their animal instincts that they had lost all sense of reason and morality.
Overwhelmed with guilt and shame, Venera fled the den and retreated to her realm in the moon. She refused to speak to anyone for days, wracked with mental trauma and regret. She realized that she had been foolish to grant such a powerful gift without fully considering the consequences, and now her followers were suffering because of it.
It was then that she decided to curse the transformation, to make it something feared and reviled rather than celebrated. She hoped that by doing so, she could make amends for her mistake and prevent any further harm from coming to her followers.

Khyzlios, the God of Night, and Venera, the Goddess of Night, were two deities who existed on opposite sides of the spectrum. Khyzlios represented the darkness and the mysteries that lay within, while Venera represented the light and the beauty that existed in the night sky. Despite their opposing domains, the two gods were drawn to each other, and a love story began to unfold.
Khyzlios was known for his brooding and mysterious nature, and few dared to approach him. But Venera, with her wild and free spirit, was unafraid. She saw past his dark exterior and recognized the light within him. Khyzlios was equally drawn to Venera's light, and found himself mesmerized by her grace and beauty.
As they spent more time together, Khyzlios and Venera discovered that they had much in common. They both valued the importance of the night, and understood that it held secrets and mysteries that were waiting to be uncovered. They worked together to create a balance between light and darkness, and to find the beauty in the shadows.
Despite their love for each other, Khyzlios and Venera knew that their relationship was forbidden. The other gods frowned upon their union, and they were constantly being watched. But Khyzlios and Venera were determined to be together, and they continued to meet in secret.
One night, as they were strolling through a dark forest, Khyzlios and Venera stumbled upon an ancient ruin. Inside, they found an old tome that contained powerful magic. They studied the book together, unlocking secrets that had been lost for centuries. As they delved deeper into the tome, they realized that their love was more than just a fleeting emotion - it was a force of nature, an unbreakable bond that would stand the test of time.
Khyzlios and Venera continued to work together, using their unique powers to create balance and harmony in the world. Their love continued to grow stronger with each passing day, and they became known as the Oracle of Darkness - a powerful force of nature that brought balance to the night. Despite the obstacles that they faced, Khyzlios and Venera remained together, a testament to the enduring power of love.

Khyzlios has a tense relationship with the sun god, as the two deities represent opposing forces.
